Cherish in Blue
Cherish, Nurture, Celebrate
This board book already had the neat holes cut in the pages. I used the poem at the end and the color blue for the theme.
Cherish, esteem, revere, value, treasure, dote on, appreciate, venerate, prize, love, hold dear, honor... I used vellum on the left and tissue paper on the right.
Left hand side is tissue paper with acrylic paint then stamped over with ink. Right hand side my son wove a dream catcher then I painted with Luminiere adding fingernail stickers and other embellishments.
Left hand side is squares punched out of scrap paper then coverd with tissue paper. The right hand side I used circles made with punches then covered that with old sewing patterns. Next I added words printed on vellum that go with the word celebrate.
I created rubbings with crayon, ripped those into strips and wove them together to cover the LHS. On the RHS I coppied a Monet card in black and white, cut the pictures into strips and wove them together.
Drywall tape with fibers and ribbon woven in. "Cherish yesterday's memories. Celebrate the joys of today. Nurture the promise of tomorrow."
